The RUC Series is a Smart VSD (Variable Speed Drive) Booster Pump built for South African homes. Whether you’re dealing with weak shower pressure, fluctuating flow when multiple taps are open, or an electricity bill that doesn’t make sense for a single pump — the RUC is designed to fix all three.
How it works
Unlike a standard fixed-speed pump that runs at full power regardless of demand, the RUC continuously monitors your system pressure and adjusts its motor speed in real time. When only one tap is open, it runs gently. When the whole household is running at once, it ramps up to match. The moment demand drops, it backs off again. The result is constant, comfortable pressure throughout your home — without wasting electricity getting there.
Built on better motor technology
The RUC uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) rated at IE4/IE5 — the highest international efficiency class available. Most fixed-speed domestic pumps use a standard IE1 induction motor. Switching to the RUC means your pump is not only smarter about when it works hard, but more efficient at every point it operates. Most homeowners see a 35–55% reduction in pump-related electricity costs.
WiFi control via the Smart Life app
All RUC models connect to the free Smart Life app on Android and iOS. Once paired, you can monitor your system pressure and water temperature in real time, start and stop the pump remotely, adjust your target pressure, and view historical power consumption — all from your phone. The pump operates fully independently if WiFi is unavailable, with all settings stored on the unit itself.
Pump Link Mode — twin pump cascade
The RUC-750 and RUC-1100 support Pump Link Mode, allowing two pumps to be connected and operated as a coordinated pair. The first pump starts automatically; the second activates only when demand exceeds the first pump’s capacity. The pumps alternate startup to distribute wear evenly, and if one unit fails, the other continues operating independently — providing built-in redundancy for larger homes, estates, and townhouse complexes.
